Yes, I am taking a break of indeterminate length with Niourk because now that I have to translate it, I see how obnoxiously awful Stefan Wul's idea of primitive speech is. If you think I just grabbed the next book on my shelves... I kind of did, yes. This is the beginning of a very short collection of Vietnamese folk tales, published by Maïté Laveissière in 1968. Most of those are rather well-known and you've probably heard other versions of them elsewhere. So... please enjoy.
